Lost and Found of 2008

Well I am glad to say that this year is over and a new one has begun. We had our fare share of ups and downs and we discovered many things about each other, our family, our friends, our faith, our country and ourselves. Here is a list of things that we lost and found during 2008.

We found that January in Puerto Rico is PERFECT.

And some of us lost our bottom halves once or twice while we were enjoying the perfect weather.

We found that there are a few things that Puerto Ricans do very quickly and that is lay down new asphault. It truly was an art form. I quickly lost a half hour of my time while I watched them re-pave our road.

We about lost our sanity when B. decided that the most fun thing to do was jump. He jumped off everything for months and months and months. He did stop jumping off the couch however when he found out that it landed him two minutes in timeout.

We found Ben a fall back job, if the whole Dr. thing doesn't work, while we attended the Children's Museum, but lost all hope for lunch when we discovered that the food was fake and Ben would be getting paid with Monopoly money.

We found Kalli wanted to spend even more time with Daddy this Spring. She couldn't stand to lose a fragment of time with him so she took to studying with him.

We found that over the summer Kalli could play some mean T-ball and she never lost a game, but neither did any of her opponents). Oh the joy of "everyone is a winner"...

We found that sand stays in a swimsuit twice as long if you are five years old and spend two hours on a boogie board.

For Kalli's birthday we lost part of Kalli's number 5 candle for her birthday cake but...
Bronsen found that the candle didn't taste as good as it looked.

We found that B and Kalli have inherited their mother's love for dancing where ever and whenever they feel like it, but found that Bronsen's true dance abilities are in break dancing. He does a pretty mean Robot.

Found that you can get turned away from a hospital for not having active insurance and found a bill for $100 for getting your blood pressure taken and you temperature checked.

We found that a good way to save on rent, business overhead and commute time seems to be this custom SUV (Suave', Utility, Vehicle). Yes, this is a restaurant-truck-tire shop-camper.

As you can see we have lost and found many things in 2008, really too numerous to count. We have learned is that no matter what trial we face we are an eternal family. If we unite together and stay close to our Savior there is not a trial we cannot get through. The biggest lesson I have learned this past year is that the Lord will sometimes allow us to stumble into thorny places to protect us from more harmful situations. I am so thankful for Ben and for all that he helps me find about love, trust, forgiveness, friendship and temple covenants every day. I am grateful for my children and their ability to help me lose myself in serving and teaching them. I am so glad to know that things in this life will be lost and found but I will have my family forever.

The New and Improved Blog

So for some reason my old blog page was acting up. So I decided to create a new one to see if it will fix some of the problems I have had. Plus, I thought it was a good time to do it being a new year and all, so enjoy. We love you all and be sure to comment and invite me to view your blogs so I can keep track of what all of you are up to.
