I Just Don't Get Facebook...

So many of you know now that I am not a big facebook fan. I think the idea that people need to know what you are doing right at that very moment is stalkerish... "Brianna has just woken up from a sound sleep, has eaten breakfast and will be eating lunch and eventually be going to the bathroom 3 times today." Who isn't doing this and what is with the third person narration? I just don't get it. I know many of my fellow bloggers also have facebook, so explain the intrigue to me. This YouTube video is hilarious. I just love British humor, but watch some of the British language. This might be PG or PG-13 depending on your own rating system. I laughed out loud. Thanks for the video Hill and the great discussion Lisa! Just click the blog title to watch the video...

Lights, Camera, ACTION !!!

About a month ago some of us girls down here decided that the life of wife and mother was too simple for us so we decided to try our hand at being movie stars. After spending hours finding costumes, getting our hair and make up done and then spending all night waiting, and waiting, and waiting on set and doing the same thing over again about 18 times we decided that movies star life wasn't all that glamorous. So after only 15 hours we decided that Johnny Depp has to do his next movie with out us... The above picture is of me proving my acting skills as a shocked tourist. I think I have skills ;)

No, really it was pretty cool and I couldn't have asked for better company. We laughed and giggled all night. I got there at 5 pm and got home to my house at 7 am. Ben was a nervous wreck thinking that I was dead in a ditch somewhere. (They didn't let us take our phones on set). It might have been more worth it if I was actually in the background of the movie. I was just in the back back ground. So I am sure I will not make it into the movie. But I did get to meet Johnny Depp and he was super nice and very handsome. And they are supposed to be paying me $100. so we will see if I get paid... Thanks for the fun ladies and sorry mom I can't find the toothpick :(

Happy Mother's Day!

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears,
the figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart, The place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows,
and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!
To all women out there... Happy Mother's Day!

What Does a Person Find at a PR Park?

Yes, you are seeing right...there is a cow at the playground. This is the playground, I use the word loosely, in our neighborhood and there is a cow tied up and grazing on the long grass by the monkey bars. The kids were a little nervous but I thought it was a perfect PR moment. I couldn't resist taking a picture and making it its own post!

The kids got a little jumpy when the cow moo-ved closer:) That joke was for my mom...

Birds and Burgers

This is us eating hamburgers at Chicago Burger in Old San Juan. It is the only place that is semi affordable and it is right by where the cruise ships dock. We were happy to have Ben with us this day. Because of school he couldn't take too much time off while my parents were here.

This man had all these birds and some pirate stuff and was charging people to have their picture taken with it. So we decided to take a picture for free. Any of you that know my dad would understand this. But Bronsen was freaked out because I told him that macaws can bit fingers right off if you make the bird angry enough. (He and his friends had been tormenting a macaw at the pet store). So he didn't want to get to close to the birds even for a picture. He didn't want to loose any fingers...

These birds were so bright and colorful!

Our Use-to-be Private Beach

These are some more pictures from when my parents were here. We took them to Cerro Gordo. For most of you "temporary Puerto Ricians" out there you know that this is a very popular beach among us. However, this last year this beach has been bombarded by way too many permanent Puerto Ricians. Not that I have anything serious against the locals. I just really miss the solitude that we use to have when we would come here on Saturday mornings. The population consisted of the four of us, 3-4 other locals, about 10 pigeons, and occasionly the Jackmans:) We would sit on the beach from 9-11 and not hear one beat of Regatone, not get told to watch our kids better by the water, we wouldn't see anyone hiding their bikini under their body rolls and the only sand in my kids' eyes was self inflicted. (How do you say,"Don't throw sand!" in Spanish?) But my parents enjoyed it anyway. They don't understand "the good old days"...
This is the view from the camp area. It really is breathtaking.
This picture is super cute. But don't look too close at their faces. My dad told them that there were sea spiders in those rocks. They are both sure they are about to meet their doom!

Gramdma, in her favorite place, between 2 grandbabies!
