8 Years!!!

On June 25th Ben and I celebrated our 8th anniversary! Talk about crazy. I can't believe that it has been that long. At times it seems that it has been WAY too long (all you married folk understand) and at times it had just flown by! For our anniversary Ben came home from Pittsburgh and surprised me at 3 o'clock in the morning. He spent the weekend with me and the kids and then I went back to Pennsylvania with him for 4 days! It was so nice. I did NOTHING for four days! I even stayed in bed one day until 11 in the morning. Being apart for seven weeks was so hard. I think my fingers have calluses on them from texting and IMing so much. I guess absence does make the heart grown fonder?
We were married early on a Monday morning, how romantic, in June at the SLC Temple. The day was beautiful and the surrealness of the day was overwhelming. We had dated so long that we felt like that day would never come and it had. What an adventure we started that day.
I can't help but think about some advice I was given about marriage."Marriage is the hardest thing you will ever do, but it will have the greatest reward. It is work, work, work and be happy or don't work and be miserable." I will tell you that this is 100% true. Over the last 8 years Ben and I have had ups and downs and have worked and not worked. We have been happy and not. But we both wouldn't do this thing called marriage with anyone but each other! Here's to the beginning of our forever...

Best Buddies

This is Bronsen and Ian. The two of them have had a love hate realationship over the last 3 years of their young lives and currently they are in a love phase. We have been here a month and these two are like glue. They run, jump, play and share dialogs that are worthy of comedy TV. For example, the two of them were sword fighting and B stabbed Ian and said, "I got you" and Ian responded in a mocking tone with, "I'm still standing!" Then the two of them continued the competition. Then after prayers one night B said to Ian, "I love you Ian," and Ian said, "I love you too." And then they hugged. It was precious! They are just the best of friends and we are really enjoying their friendship.
