Take Me Out to The Ball Game

We spent two months playing ball!.  We had games and practices twice a week for Kalli and Bronsen, and we had only one car!  We were filling up the car every other day...  We were so busy!! I felt like I was at a ball field more than at our house.  But it was really fun to watch them both play.  Ben coached B's team which was crazy for us. We would pick him up from the hospital and go to B's game then I would leave with Kalli and Finn halfway through and go to Kalli's game and then come and pick the boys up.  Sometimes we got rides with teammates and some days Ben had to find a sub because he couldn't get leave the hospital.  But Ben really wanted to coach since he hasn't really ever been around when the kids have played the last few summers. And baseball is his game of choice. B's team's name was Blue Dragons (of course Ben's team was blue) and they were the typical 3-5 year old team. However, they played some pretty die hard teams that must practice year round from the time they were born.  But they had fun and B was so happy to have his daddy coach him.

This year Kalli played machine pitch softball.  The ball is pitched at 35 mph and is at about 32 mph when it reaches the plate.  It might not sound fast, but it is.  The girls did such a great job and they really improved over the coarse of 8 weeks.  Kalli has always been a good hitter off the the T and Coach-pitch, so I wasn't surprised that she could really hit the ball.  She wasn't afraid of it and always made contact with the ball.  She hit 3rd, always had some RBI's in a game and only struck out twice all season!  She really enjoys playing and is so open to coaching and taking corrections.  Her coach loved how "coach able" she was and how she understood the game.  Maybe its from all the Yankees games she has watched over the years? :) She just had a blast playing.  She even had her typical Kalli Smile every time she was running the bases! I guess it is good she wants to play for the Yankees when she grows up!

Halloween 2011

Halloween in the South was great!  The weather was warm and the kids costumes were so super easy.  They both wanted to be things that we just bought at the store. B was a ninja and Kalli was "Draculara" that was what she called her self.  I tried again to have her be something pretty or cute and she said, "Halloween is about scaring people and being something freaky." I guess she is right, huh? Finn was a very chubby robot.  He spend the night in his stroller eating sucker after sucker.  We went with some friends and went through neighborhood.  It was packed with kids and we saw something different about how they all get around on Halloween...

This is how they put their trucks, four wheelers and trailers.  The streets were filled with these trailers.  One trailer even had a fire pit in the middle and camp chairs all around it.  I saw pink four wheelers and kids four wheelers.  I just thought... red necks?
But we had a great day and a great first Louisianian Halloween!
