So this summer came with record heat in the South and so we had to find ways to cool off. We were in the double digits for three months!! I think most days it was around... 5,000 degrees!! Some days hotter and some cooler, but all-in-all VERY hot. So we had to find ways to keep the kids entertained and cooled off. So we went bowling!!! The bowling alley had a "kids bowl free" program for the summer and so Ben and I bought a parents summer seasons pass. We went at least once a week and we all got pretty good.
This summer the pool was definitely the cool spot for us new Louisianians. We went almost everyday, depending on the baby. He wasn't a fan of being held in the pool. He wanted to swim, rather sink, all by himself, so the baby and I never lasted that long at the pool. But Kalli and B swam their little hearts out. Bronsen got pretty good and he was keeping up with Kalli great.
This was our 2nd favorite place this summer, the splash pad! There is great park right by our house that has a covered playground and this great water park. It is on from May 1st until September 30th. And we were at this park all through the summer, even if we weren't planning on going there. Like the pictures show, not all days at the park were planned. In that kinda of heat their clothes were dry in no time.
These are some pictures of other parks, movies and shopping we did at the first of the summer. Also the playground at our apt. That is my view of the playground from my window. Its as close to our own back yard as you can get. Its is so nice to have it right out our door. We took the kids some movies and I saw half of them. Being 10 months old Finn was not the best baby during the movies, but that just mean I get to watch them all when they come out on DVD:) Thank heavens for Red Box!
